After graduating high school and not knowing what I wanted to do with my life and because I was only 140 lbs. and 5'7" tall everyone told me I could never make it in the Marine Corps. This made me more determined to join. I enlisted in the Marine's in October of 1960 and after 16 weeks of intense training at Paris Island my weight had increased to 165 lbs. and I was now 5'10".
My tour of duty in the Marine Corps was from 1960 to 1964. During that time I attended the University of South Carolina and meet Joan who was to become my bride in May of 1965. Joan was living in Beaufort, South Carolina with her parents, her brother and her twin sister.
After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps, I returned to Rhode Island, attended the University of Rhode Island and began my career with the United States Postal Service as a clerk/carrier. My oldest son Michael came aboard in March of 1967, that's when we decided we needed a home of our own. I worked 3 jobs, the post office, driving school busses, and managing baseball batting cages at Misquamicut beach. Joan worked at one of the local banks and in 1969 we built our first home. November of that year Steven was born. Joan and I have been married 42 years; have two great daughters in law, and 5 fantastic grandchildren ranging in age from 6 mo. to 19 years of age
.
At the age of 30, I was appointed supervisor at the Westerly, RI post office, later became Post Master in Kenyon, RI and in 1980 was appointed to the Post Master's position in West Kingston, RI.
After 30 years including 4 with the military I opted to accept an early retirement in 1991. The retirement gig was great for about 2 weeks, that's when I decided that I was too young to quite the working circuit. After conferring with several people whose input I trusted they all agreed because of my background in dealing with people, finances and negotiations that I should consider real estate. I was a little apprehensive at first but decided to give it a try and I do not regret this for one moment. Real estate is the only business that you continually meet new friends. I am now in my 17th year as a realtor. I have continuously been in the Multi-Million Dollar Clubs including 100% Club, Platinum Club and Re/Max Hall of Fame.
My motto "Focus, Pure and Simple" pertains to every real estate transaction. I am an "ABR" Accredited Buyer Representative and an "SRES" Senior Real Estate Specialist.

I begin my fourth year as a member of Bob'sTeam where I specialize in working with both first-time home-buyer’s and real estate investor’s. Born and raised in Point Judith, RI, I am familiar with the pulse of South County, RI living.
Prior to getting the real estate bug, I was employed in the radio/television industry in Albany, New York where I did free lance work for ESPN, along with serving as the radio play-by-play voice of the Tri-City Valley Cats (Houston Astros single A affiliate) and Siena College basketball.
I am a member of the Kent, Washington and Rhode Island Associations of Realtors and am actively involved with Business Networking International (BNI). Currently I’m a chapter vice president. I’m a graduate of Narragansett High School and Dean College.
Specializing in "first time homebuyer" representation means that I am familiar with all the specialty mortgage programs, have direct contact with other real estate professionals (i.e. attorneys, home inspectors, insurance brokers, appraisers, contractors). I explain the details and guide clients through the entire home buying process
I love my work and especially proud to be a member of Bob’s Team @ Re/Max Flagship.

It was my wife who introduced me to Rhode Island, her birthplace. After more than four years here, I’ve come to love South County and its beaches. They remind me of my own birthplace, Tampa, Florida but with the advantage of four seasons of beauty and a wonderful place to practice my hobbies of down-hill skiing, ocean surfing and kayaking and of course, golf.
We do lots of travelling where we get to know people from around the world. It the past few years my wire, Andrea, and I have visited Argentina, Uruguay and Mediterranean countries. Having come from a successful management career in the hospitality industry (you may have seen me at the Post Office Café in East Greenwich) I look forward to growing my second career in selling Rhode Island real estate.
Early on, I did return to Florida to earn my degree from St. Petersburg College and I did have an opportunity to live in Springfield, Missouri. These experiences give me the knowledge and insight to serve my real estate clients, many of whom move to Rhode Island for career opportunities in industry or education.
I’ve learned that it is all about relationships. I love to help people find what they want and need. Whether it is through the hospitality industry or though selling real estate; this is my greatest pleasure.
